How much does Etsy take per sale?
For a US shop, a typical sale has three fees: a listing fee, a transaction fee and a payment processing fee. If the order came from one of Etsy's Offsite Ads, there's an advertising fee too.
The Etsy fees we include (US sellers)
- Listing fee: $0.20 for each listing, charged again when an item sells and the listing renews.
- Transaction fee: 6.5% of your item price plus the shipping and gift wrap you charge.
- Payment processing: 3% + $0.25 per order for shops with a US bank account.
- Offsite Ads: only on orders that come from an Etsy ad on another site. It's 15% for shops under $10,000 in yearly sales and 12% after that, capped at $100 per order.
A worked example
You sell a print for $25 and charge $5 shipping, so the buyer pays you $30 before tax. Etsy takes $0.20 (listing) + $1.95 (6.5% of $30) + $1.15 (3% of $30 plus $0.25) = $3.30, or 11% of the order. Then take off what the print and postage cost you to see your real profit.
Can you pay less in Etsy fees?
Etsy's Share & Save program refunds 4% of the order total when a buyer orders within 30 days of clicking a link you shared off Etsy, like on your own social media. Etsy has announced a holiday promotion that refunds the full 6.5% on eligible orders through January 4, 2027. This calculator doesn't subtract Share & Save, so treat it as a bonus.
Fees for 2027 and beyond
These are the fees on Etsy's Fees & Payments Policy and Offsite Ads help page, last checked October 2026. Etsy usually announces fee changes ahead of time, and we update the calculator when they change. Your Payment account always shows the exact amounts.
What this calculator leaves out
Sales tax is collected and paid by Etsy for US orders, so it's not counted as your money here. Etsy Ads (the ones you set a daily budget for), currency conversion and the regulatory operating fees charged in some countries aren't included either.
